Architecture students to discuss design work at arts café
Five graduating art, design and architecture students will get the chance to talk about their work at the next Dundee Arts Café.
They will be at the McManus Galleries on Tuesday to highlight their work, which will be on display at this year’s Dundee University art, design and architecture Degree Show.
Each year Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design’s Matthew and Crawford buildings are transformed into Scotland’s largest exhibition to showcase the work of more than 350 students.
For 10 days, from Saturday May 20, visitors will have the chance to view the culmination of several years of creative development and hard work in an exciting show spanning the areas of design and craft, contemporary art practice, social digital, graphic communication and architecture.
The dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Professor Paul Harris, said: “This year we have yet another fantastic Degree Show that covers a breadth of subjects and interests.
“Dundee Arts Café will be giving some of our students the platform to explain what their work is about, and what it means to them.
“It also gives the public a taste of what is to come later in May.”
Meet the Degree Show Artists and Designers takes place at the McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery and Museum at 6pm on Tuesday.
The event is free and open to all, but limited seating means visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment. Doors open at 5pm.
