SALE: Angus Council’s sale of surplus items of ground maintenanc­e equipment and machinery will take place on Saturday May 6 from 10am at Taylor’s Auctions Rooms in Montrose.

Among the 70-plus items available to bid for will be mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, cement mixers and tractor bogies.

KIRRIEMUIR: Kirriemuir Wargames Club has a busy few weeks ahead, with displays planned in Perth, Falkirk and Newark.

At the Perth Scale Model Show in the Dewar Centre at the end of April and Carronade in Falkirk on May 13 the club members will demonstrat­e the first day of Gettysburg.

A group of members are also planning to attend the partisan show in Newark, a show on a much larger scale than any of those arranged in Scotland.

Planning has also already started for the club’s own annual show which will be held at Webster’s High School on November 11.

ARBROATH: The next jazz night at Hospitalfi­eld in Arbroath will celebrate the life of Ella Fitzgerald, in this, her centenary year.

Providing the music at Arbroath’s Hospitalfi­eld House on Saturday May 13 will be award-winning vocalist Tina May, with Brian Kellock on piano and Kenny Ellis on bass.
