A laughing matter

You couldn’t script it, as the saying goes. In the case of Labour’s only Scottish MP, Ian Murray, the election blunder he faced this week could be a scene from Yes Minister.

To leaflet thousands of homes to list your achievements, only for the page to be blank, is pure comedy gold. Mr Murray, whose seat is a key target of the opposition, has since posted a video apology. While we commiserate, we have to admit, it was funny. Politics can be savage and this was a moment of light relief. We hope he can laugh too.
