SAYFC: National club of the year to be unveiled at Royal Highland Show
The new national chairman of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers’ Clubs is Suzie Dunn of the Stirling, Strathendrick and Strathkelvin club.
The new national vice-chairman is David Lawrie of Kinross JAC, who has also been appointed east regional chairman.
Ms Dunn said: “I can’t thank the members and council enough for electing me and giving me the chance to sit in the SAYFC hot seat and prove myself for the year.
“Having just come off as west regional chairman and national vice-chairman, this has only motivated me for the year ahead and I promise to put every ounce of effort and energy into this association which I believe is the best youth organisation for young people to be a part of with the amount of opportunities it presents to its members.”
The west regional chairman is Andrew Ireland of Crossroads YFC and the north chairman is Kim Taylor of Turriff JAC. Gemma Bruce of Udny JAC continues in the role of international chairman, while Duncan Morrison of Inverurie JAC has been appointed agri and rural affairs chairman with Ian Wilson of Mearns JAC serving as his vice-chairman.
Meanwhile, Halkirk Young Farmers’ Club is one of three clubs in the running to be named national club of the year.
The other two clubs are East Fife JAC and Stranraer and Rhins Young Farmers’ Club.
The winner will be unveiled at the Royal Highland Show in June.
