AIRLIE. Members held a social night at the Airlie Arms Hotel, Kirriemuir. Competitio­ns: macaroon bar – 1 Margaret Robertson, 2 Sheila Bruce, 3 Judith McVicar; TV decorated egg – 1 Judith McVicar, 2 Karen Boath, 3 Margaret Robertson.

CORTACHY. Prizes were presented by Davina Farquharso­n who also sang. Competitio­ns: favourite plate – 1 Margaret MacKie, 2 Caroline Lang, 3 Patsy Paton; six cut tulips – 1 Sandra Boath, 2 Patsy Paton, 3 Margaret Mackie; flower of the month – 1 Patsy Paton, 2 Caroline Lang, 3 Valerie McAlister.

INVERKEILO­R. President Mary Ogilvie welcomed members. All members who entered the Federation Show won a prize and were congratula­ted on their achievemen­ts. Following business everyone took part in either cardmaking, applique or crochet. Competitio­ns: patchwork mug rug – 1 Kathleen Edwards, 2 Ruth Ferguson; two custard creams – 1 Ruth Ferguson, 2 Jean Noble, 3 Jean Hendry; flower of the month – 1 Mary Ogilvie, 2 Jean Hendry, 3 Jean Noble.

MEMUS and FERN. Elsie Nicoll welcomed members who enjoyed a talk from Frances Smith on health and hygiene. Competitio­ns: flower of the month – 1 Mary Donnelly, 2 Frances Craig, 3 Elsie Nicoll; ham and egg pie – Elsie Nicoll; door stop – Davina Farquharso­n.

MENMUIR. President Joy Spence welcomed members and introduced Arthur Lawrence who showed how to grow vegetables in containers. Competitio­ns: my favourite houseplant – 1 Liz Thomson, 2 Wilma Warden; flower of the month – 1 Liz Thomson, 2 Doris Alston, 3 Liz Bridson.

NORTHMUIR. President Elma Dickens welcomed members and friends to the 69th birthday party. Longservin­g members Irene Mackie and Irene Millar cut the cake. Five ladies from Cortachy Institute entertaine­d. Gloria Mitchell showed how to make a silk corsage, Sandra Boath gave a “Kirrie Herald” topical quiz, Patsy Paton demonstrat­ed floral art, June Rae served up a gluten free tray bake and Pat Harrow shared a handy tip on how to fold shopping bags for storing. Competitio­ns: carrot cake – 1 Elma Dickens, 2 Irene Mackie; Easter bonnet – 1 Mary Steele, 2 Irene Mackie, 3 Elma Dickens; flower of the month – 1 equal Kay Dorward and Irene Mackie.

ST CYRUS. Frances Moir and Kathleen Masson demonstrat­ed a variety of flower-arranging techniques. Competitio­ns: chutney: 1 Mary Bowker, 2 Moyra Brown; craft item – Kathleen Masson; flower of the month – 1 Kath Scott, 2 Doreen Paterson, 3 Margaret Hadden. Kath Scott won the Quaich for flower of the month. Runner up was Doreen Paterson. The Jubilee Cup for most points for the year was won by Moyra Brown. Helen Keith was runner-up. Kath Scott proposed the vote of thanks.
