McCOLGAN FIFTH Eilish McColgan (Dundee Hawkhill) opened her 5,000m summer campaign at the Payton Jordan Invitational Meeting at Stanford University in California, writes our athletics correspondent.
She was fifth in 15:22.12 in a race won by Sifan Hassan (Netherlands) in 15:13.15.
Chris O’Hare (Edinburgh AC) was second in the 1,500m in 3:39.05 behind Eric Jenkins (USA) in 3:38.30. JONES TAKES TITLE Dundee-based Welsh internationalist Kristian Jones (Swansea/Dundee Hawkhill) won the Scottish 5km Road Race title at Silverknowes, followed by Dundee athlete Jamie Crowe leading Central AC to the team title.
Logan Rees was seventh and first junior in 14.48, and Fife AC won junior team gold.
Fife’s Annabel Simpson claimed the female and U20 titles.
