Broughty aiming to build momentum

-

Broughty Athletic play host to title contenders Bonnyrigg Rose at Whitton Park.

Boss Keith Gibson is a happier man after wins at Broxburn and Musselburgh and will want to keep the momentum going ahead of next weekend’s GA Cup final.

Drew Fleming is suspended from an otherwise full strength squad.

Supporters are reminded that the game kicks off at 1.30pm.

Carnoustie Panmure finish their home programme by welcoming Bo’ness United to Laing Park.

Manager Alan McSkimming is well on the way with his plans for next season and this week added central defender Adam Harwood on a permanent deal after a being on a season-long loan from Montrose. However, Harwood is one of several players to miss out today.

Hill of Beath parted company with manager Bobby Wilson this week ahead of their final game at home to Lochee United.

Several names have been touted for the vacant position but nothing has been confirmed.

When the sides met at Thomson Park, the Fife side recorded a rare victory, winning 3-1, so George Shields’ men will be looking to restore parity for the season.

Shields is without Graeme Hay, Conor Birse and Scott Webster, while Greg Kirk and Paul Lunan will face fitness tests. Shaun Leishman misses the game for the Haws through suspension

They don’t come much bigger than the clash at Riverside Stadium, where Jeanfield Swifts host Musselburgh.

Both sides know that it’s winnertakes-all as three points will guarantee safety and another season in the Super League.

Should Burgh lose then they are definitely down, but Jeanfield have two more games to save themselves – although they are at Bonnyrigg and at home to Linlithgow.

Swifts boss Ross Gunnion said: “The squad have prepared well and we can choose from a full squad other than the suspended Lee Deans.”

Thanks to a superior goal difference Kelty Hearts know that a win at Linlithgow will all but see the title heading for Fife but manager Tam Courts will be taking nothing for granted.

The home side still need a point to avoid the play off but do have games in hand.

Courts expects to have a full squad available but changes are expected.
