MUSEUM History enthusiast­s are being offered a chance to view the special collection­s unit of Dundee’s McManus, in the former Barrack Street museum.

It will give visitors the chance to view current projects the curatorial team are working on, from 1-3pm on Monday.

The Angus moth-audit and the care of the city costume collection will be among the displays available to view free of charge.

KIRRIEMUIR St Andrew’s Church will hold a messy picnic in the Den on June 3 from 10.30am to noon.

There will be games and a picnic. If the weather is wet, the event will be held at St Andrew’s Church Hall on Glamis Road.

MONTROSE Play-off defeat disappoint­ment was softened for Montrose FC manager Stewart Petrie when his numbers came up in the club’s lucky numbers draw.

The Gable Endies gaffer scooped the £1,250 jackpot in the scheme run jointly by Montrose FC, Montrose Roselea JFC and Merpro AFC, which pays out around £10,000 each year.

FORFAR Angus Threeway Fundraiser­s is holding a prize bingo on Tuesday in the Legion Hall in Academy Street.

Eyes down at 7.30pm.

ARBROATH Keptie Friends will have a tidy up of Keptie Pond tomorrow.

They hope to plant some water lilies as well as get rid of more weeds.

The group also plan to count bees at the site and check on the recently developed well.

They will start their work at 11am and welcome volunteers to help.

FORFAR The British Legion will hold a veterans coffee morning at their hall in Academy Street from 10am today.

Legion members are welcome from 11am.
