Swifts and Burgh meet again

- Enicolson@thecourier.co.uk

Last weekend saw Jeanfield Swifts secure their Super League status with victory over Musselburgh, a result that relegated the Lothian side to the Premier League.

This weekend the sides meet again, this time in the quarter-final of the East Of Scotland Cup at Musselburgh’s Olivebank.

In the McBookie.com East Super League, Carnoustie Panmure bring the curtain down on something of a rollercoaster season with a visit to title-chasing Bonnyrigg Rose.

Once more manager Alan McSkimming is short of available defenders, with Ryan Roche injured and Adam Harwood unavailable.

Lochee United have had an excellent first season back in the top flight and they welcome Linlithgow Rose to Thomson Park for the final home game.

United boss George Shields is without Graham Hay, Conor Birse and Scott Webster, while Paul Lunan is rated as doubtful for the game.

In the McBookie.com East Premier League, Dundee Violet face Whitburn in their final Premier League game at Glenesk Park.

Violet manager Ralph Henderson has his usual lengthy injury list. Added to that are Gary Robertson and Chris Tawse, who are both doubtful, and Kit Bremner who is unavailable.

Kinnoull complete their East North League season with the visit of Dundee North End to Tulloch Park.

The Perth side go into the game without Greg Whyte and Lewis Mackie but otherwise have a full squad. North End are without Ryan Shaw through suspension.

It will be a party atmosphere at Memorial Park as Thornton Hibs celebrate promotion to the Premier League with the visit of Brechin Vics. Striker Yordi Teijsse has parted company with Dundee by mutual consent.

Paul Hartley plucked the forward out of the Dutch amateurs last summer but the experiment never looked like being a success.

start against Forfar Athletic a week later, heading home the last goal in a 7-0 win. That was as good as it got, though. Teijsse made only three more starts for the club and in January he joined German side Wuppertaler SV on loan until the end of the season.

A club statement said: “We would like to thank Yordi for his efforts while with the club and wish him all the best for the future.”

Meanwhile, Dundee, Sky Sports and Neil McCann have yet to reach a conclusion with their talks about McCann’s future.

That is expected to happen by the start of next week.
