Home winner at Fife Show
A strong entry of horses came forward for the Fife Show where the overall in-hand native pony champion was the Highland gelding Glenbanchor Somerled, from Elinor Steven, Kingsbarns.
The 12-year-old competes in ridden showing, dressage and driving classes and has previously qualified for the Horse of the Year Show.
“It was a lovely pony, with good balanced movement,” said the overall supreme judge, Tommy Brash, whose family also enjoyed success.
His daughter Diane lifted the overall hunter title and grand-daughters Kyra and Lexi topped the part-bred championship and mini M&M ridden title respectively.
Supreme in-hand horse champion was the champion from the Coloured Horse and Pony section, Young Rebel, from Jackie and Shona Wood, of Corbiewells, Forfar.
This seven-year-old coloured gelding by Cockney Rebel has qualified for the CHAPS championships.
The in-hand hunter section saw a clean sweep for John Bennett, Aberargie, Perth, when winning with Twinoaks Skysail and reserve with the home-bred yearling filly Brackenbrae Incandescence.
The 10-year-old pure-bred Cleveland Bay, Twinoaks Skysail, was making her show debut and has bred four foals.
The open ridden mountain and moorland championship went to Newburgh rider Sarah Oakden with Irene Gawith’s nine-year-old Welsh cob Menai Celtic Hero.
This partnership qualified for the Royal International Horse Show at NPS Scotland Spring Show.
