THEATRE: Carnoustie Theatre Club begin their run of the “black farce” Dumbstruck by David Kane today at 7.30pm.
Fans of the stage can catch performances at the Dibble Tree Theatre until Saturday.
Organisers have set a 15-plus age restriction due to adult content. Tickets are available from The Fobel Shop in town and cost £8/£7 concession.
KIRRIEMUIR: The results of the latest whist drive in the Northmuir Hall, Kirriemuir were – 1 Connie Lockwood, 2 Jim Burrows, 3 Mina Whitelaw; booby prize – Margaret Wilson. The next drive will be held on Wednesday September 13.
FORFAR: Demolition work on the former Forfar Academy’s tower block begins today.
Robertson Construction estimate it will take two weeks for demolition to complete. LAURENCEKIRK: A pub quiz in Laurencekirk last week raised more than £800 for Childline.
Staff from the local Scotmid store organised the event at the Crown Inn to raise funds for the NSPCC-run service, which provides free, private and confidential advice over the phone and online to children on a range of issues.
Businesses from across the area donated prizes for the quiz.
