Plea to hillwalkers to look out for missing family pet Buster
An increasingly worried family has been scouring the east Perthshire hills in a desperate search for missing dog Buster.
The Hungarian Vizsla was lost in Glen Isla at around 10.45am on Saturday.
The two-year-old was near the summit of Monega Hill, a popular walking route, when he chased off after a grouse and disappeared.
His owners, Brian and Evelyn Lawrence, have been searching with the help of friends and family, but to no avail.
Thunder and lightning at the weekend brought searches to a temporary end but they resumed yesterday.
With the weather starting to turn, the Dundee couple have become increasingly concerned for the dog’s safety and are looking for assistance.
Also hoping for good news is Buster’s best pal, Rudy, who has joined the search teams in the Perthshire hills. There are just eight weeks between the two dogs and Evelyn is desperate to see the pair reunited.
“Buster is up the hills every weekend and normally he’s no trouble at all – it’s Rudy we have to keep an eye on,” she said.
“He was out with Brian on Saturday and spotted a grouse.
“He chased after it and it looks like he’s just gone too far.
“Brian and Rudy have been out for hours looking for him, shouting for him and barking after him, but they haven’t seen anything.
“It is a big area and with the thunder and lightning over the hills at the weekend he’s probably moved on.
“Rudy has been really quiet ever since Buster disappeared and is clearly missing him.
“He’s also a little tired as he’s been out for hours helping Brian to look for him.”
