Verdant Works show schedule
Dundee’s Verdant Works museum has unveiled their summer programme of lunchtime concerts.
Music in the Mill consists of fortnightly lunchtime concerts in the High Mill building, covering a wide range of music genres.
The programme is as follows: Friday, June 16 – performance by Joanna Stark and Elisabeth Flett, a duo who first started playing together in 2008 as part of folk trio Three’s a Crowd.
They went on to perform in venues all over Scotland, released a CD in 2013 and played in last year’s Verdant Works lunchtime concert series.
Friday, June 30 – Simon Chadwick has put together a new programme for the Museum of the University of St Andrews, for their Victorian Visions exhibition, investigating how medieval tunes were re-imagined through the 19th Century harp tradition in Scotland and Ireland.
Friday, July 14 – A selection of jazz standards on the saxophone by David Behrens, a young musician with a particular interest in composition.
Friday, July 28 – Sheena Wellington. No stranger to Verdant Works, the Dundee singer will present favourite songs and stories.
Friday, August 11 – The Wighton Singers describe themselves as “a group of friends who love to sing together”. Their repertoire is mainly Scottish traditional, but they might provide a surprise or two.
