Party time for champions Kelty

-

It will be party time at New Central Park today as Kelty Hearts are crowned Super League champions.

It had looked like today’s clash with Bonnyrigg Rose might turn in to a massive winner-takes-all encounter but Linlithgow didn’t read the script and won at New Dundas Park on Wednesday, meaning Kelty cannot be caught.

For Bonnyrigg it’s now a case of bouncing back and being ready for Wednesday night’s East of Scotland Cup semi-final against Musselburgh.

Both managers have players missing and will leave it late to name their squads.

Broughty Athletic will be on a high after last weekend’s triumph at Tannadice in the GA Engineering Cup and will want to finish the league season on a high with victory over Lochee United.

United manager George Shields was disappointed with last week’s performance against Linlithgow and, despite it being the final game, will be looking for a reaction.

Shields is still without Graham Hay, Conor Birse, Scott Webster and Paul Lunan but does welcome back Scott McComiskie.

Broughty will miss the suspended Drew Fleming but can bring back Charlie King and Derryn Kesson who missed the cup final.

Jeanfield Swifts suffered a very heavy defeat at Musselburgh last weekend and manager Ross Gunnion hopes lightning doesn’t strike twice as his threadbare squad face revitalised Linlithgow Rose at Riverside Stadium.

Swifts managed to draw with Linlithgow at Prestonfield back in January but would like to end the season by going one better.

Gunnion is without Daniel Kelly through suspension.

Meanwhile, Forfar West End need to avoid a two-goal defeat at Newtongrange in the Premier League play-off second leg to secure promotion to the Super League after their fine 3-1 win at Strathmore Park last weekend.

Striker Graeme Hart helped himself to two goals and will be looking to get on the scoresheet once more and see his side to glory.

Both sides have the same squads available for the important game.

The Scottish Junior Cup final between Glenafton and Auchinleck Talbot takes place at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock, tomorrow and will be shown live on BBC ALBA from 4.05pm.
