-

The husband of a missing woman with family links to Angus has spoken of the “worst weeks” of his life.

Patricia Finnie, 64, who has family in Montrose, visited a friend in Southend on May 11 and has not been seen since leaving around lunchtime.

Officers have been investigating links which Mrs Finnie is known to have in the Angus area.

Essex Police have now issued a video statement by her husband of 45 years, Gordon, on social media.

Surrounded by family members, Mr Finnie said: “We really are very, very anxious for her wellbeing.

“Immediate family and friends are worried sick and missing her badly.

“I know the police are doing absolutely everything they can to help us.

“Many acquaintances and other old friends have been in touch offering their sympathy, and they’re looking out for Pat.”

Describing the period since his wife’s disappearance as the “worst weeks” of his life, Mr Finnie added: “Pat, if you’re seeing or hearing this of your own free will, I’m desperately anxious to know at the very least you’re safe and well.

“I urge you to please contact your mother, me or the police so that you may return safely to the family and work out any issues that are troubling you.”

Local Detective Inspector Jasmine Frost said: “To date, police have carried out a number of inquiries involving CCTV, banking records and friends and family with whom we believe Patricia has been in contact in the past.”

Mrs Finnie sometimes wears glasses and is described as 5ft 6in tall, of medium build, with straight, auburn hair.
