ADHD support group conference

-

Dundee and Angus ADHD Support Group hosted its annual conference in the Steeple yesterday.

Nearly 120 delegates from across the UK visited Dundee for the event, which explored attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

The Dundee and Angus ADHD Support Group is based in the Stobswell area of Dundee.

The keynote speaker was Phil Asherson, professor in molecular psychiatry at King’s College London .

Professor Asherson recently featured in the BBC Horizon programme in which comedian Rory Bremner was diagnosed with the neurological condition.

Alison Zerouk, project manager, said: “We currently support 50 families across Dundee and Angus and being able to provide a conference locally allows the local professionals that work with them and their children, on a daily basis, to improve their knowledge about the condition and therefore further support their clients.”

The charity was first started as a parent group back in 2014.

Since then it has gone on to grow into a busy charity that now sees children attend three weekly youth groups, and 20 parents attend a monthly support group. The charity also runs professional workshops and a one-stop shop of advice for anyone who needs it.

Anyone who would like to get in touch with the charity should contact them on 01382 456873.
