Included in the sale was the show and sale of Suffolk prime lambs, held in conjunction with the West and Central Suffolk Sheep Club. Champion – C Smith, South Flanders 47kg 264ppkg £124. Reserve – W Cook, Balcachie 43kg 279ppkg £120. Suffolk out of Scotch Mule (up to 42kg) – Duncan, Bents 42kg 219p £96. Suffolk out of Scotch Mule (over 42kg) – C Smith, South Flander. Suffolk out of any other breed (up to 42kg) – RA Campbell, Meikle Seggie 40.6kg 236p £96. Suffolk out of any other breed (over 42kg) – W Cook, Balcachie. Spring lambs (542) sold to £128 from Townhead, Arnprior for a Texel X lamb. Overall average £92.09 (-3.95 on the week). Top ppk went to Doune Farms, West Lundie for Beltex X lambs at 289ppkg. Overall ave 227.7ppkg (-8.07p on the week). Prime hoggets (337) sold to £95 for Texels from Mains of Struie and to a top of 203ppkg from Harelaw. Overall sale ave 183ppkg (+2.7p on the week). Also forward were 181 cast ewes, 14 tups and 12 wedders. Heavy ewes (83) ave £86.63 selling to £116 for a Texel from Whitecross, Dunblane. Export ewes (85) ave £59.89. Tups sold to £114 for a Zwarble from Braeside, Touch. Wedders sold to £71 for a pen of Blackfaces from Carroglen, Comrie.
