Van driver dies in road crash

Man, 60, lost his life after being involved in a three-vehicle accident

A van driver died following a three vehicle crash on a Perthshire road yesterday.

Police confirmed the 60-year-old driver died at the scene of the crash, which involved two Transit vans and a Jeep Cherokee, which had been towing a caravan.

The fatal crash occurred around 3.20pm.

A section of the A91, near Milnathort, close to the B996 junction, was closed.

A Police Scotland spokespers­on said: “We can confirm there is a fatality involved.

“This was a three vehicle collision, involving two Transit vans and a Jeep Cherokee, which was towing a caravan.

“The male driver of one of the Transit vans died at the scene.”

Officers taped off the registrati­on plates of both the Jeep and the white van.

A spokeswoma­n for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a call had been received to report a fatal crash in which a 60-year-old male had died.
