PLAYHOUSE TOPS POLL The Montrose Playhouse Project has reached the judging round of the Jewson Building Better Communitie­s Fund, with a chance to win £50,000 in labour and materials.

The cinema project came first in a public vote with 2,577 votes and final judging will end on July 2.

Organisers would use the cash to begin on the structure and stripping out the old pool.
