Police release image in fireraising probe
Police investigating a fire in a block of flats have released an image of a man they want to trace.
Firefighters and police were called to the scene at Rosehill Court in Aberdeen at around 12.20am on January 22.
No one was injured following the blaze, which was quickly extinguished and only caused minor damage.
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to as they believe he may have information that will help their investigation.
He is described as white, between 5ft 8in and 6ft, of average build, and he was wearing a grey hooded top with black down the left-hand side, blue jeans and black shoes.
Detective Inspector Allen Shaw said: “Thankfully no one was in the affected property at the time, nor was anyone injured or harmed.”
He added: “We believe this was an isolated incident – however, extra patrols were carried out at the time in the area and numerous lines of inquiry have been pursued by the investigation team since.
“Crimes of this nature are rare, not just in this area but in the city generally, and I would stress to the public that such incidents are taken extremely seriously by police.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
