CLYDESDALE – Captain James Anderson, West Glen, Kilmacolm, with West Glen New Dawn. The eight-year-old home-bred mare is by Collessie Cut Above and out of the Winter Fair class winner Fawnspark Holly and was shown by Ron Brewster. She is in foal to Dillars Ollie.

Reserve and male – Harry Emmerson, c/o Collessie, Fife with home-bred yearling colt Lutteringt­on Harry, sired by Arradoul Balvenie and out of Middlebank Carlogie Anna Maria. Unbeaten during 2016, stood reserve in the Cawdor Cup at the Stallion Show. Female reserve

– Thomas Clark and Sons, Muirton Stud, Abbey Farm, Madderty, Crieff with the two-year-old home-bred filly Muirton Melba, by Muirton Sabre and out of Muirton Megan. Has previously been first at the Stallion Show.

Ridden and reserve male – Annette Noble, Peggyslea Farm, Nine Mile Burn, Penicuik with Peggyslea Andy. The six-year-old home-bred gelding, by Millisle Solway Bay and out of Ingleston Princess later won the ridden qualifier for the Horse of the Year Show, ridden by daughter Ailsa.

SHETLAND – Louise Wilson, Cassindill­y Farm, Ceres, Fife with Cassindill­y Roxy. The four-year-old mare, a daughter of Southfield Valient and out of Millhouse Rhythm was champion at Angus and Central Scotland Group Show. Reserve

– Kelly Peace, Orkney, with Hools Rising Tide, a seven-year-old entire son of the former Royal Highland Show champion Wells Highlight II and out of Wells Fyona. Only lightly shown the pony has previously qualified for Orkney HOYS and stood second at the National Stallion Show as a three-year-old.

HIGHLAND PONIES – Shirley Clarke, Williamwoo­d Farm, Kirtlebrid­ge, Lockerbie, with the female champion Heather of Conway. The nine-year-old home-bred mare is by Snowydene and out of Iona of Conway and had stood supreme Highland pony at Ayr County. Reserve and male

champion – Jan and Christophe­r Grant, Birks Cottage Farm, Heddon Birks, Newcastle-upon-Tyne with Dunedin Mohawk. Sired by Trowan Miracle and out of Dunedin Fhouran previously stood supreme in-hand mountain and moorland at NPS Area 4 and champion at Sedgefield.

Male reserve – Lauren Fraser, 10 Overton Cres, East Calder, with Fingal of Mendick, a seven-year-old gelding, by Dougal of Mendick and out of Megan of Craigiecat. In-hand champion at the Central Scotland Highland Pony Group and also compete in dressage and ridden classes.

RIDDEN HIGHLAND – Susan Fox, c/o Markinch, Fife with the nine-year-old mare Holmedown Charlotte, by Glenmuir Buzzard and out of Holmedown Cobweb. Ridden by Kirsty Aird, qualified for the Royal Internatio­nal Horse Show at the NPS Spring Show. Reserve – John and Kate Dykes, Mendick Lea, West Linton with Isleman of Mendick. Ridden by Ruth Darling the home-bred five-year-old stallion is by the Royal Highland Show champion Moss-side Iain Mhor and out of Gissing Luscardene. ERISKAY champion and

reserve – McWilliam family, Wester Invervar House, Glenlyon, Perthshire. Champion was 14-year-old mare Robinia of Catlaw and reserve was Catfield Brynhild.
