Dementia walking challenge

People across Angus are being urged to lace up their walking shoes to help raise vital funds for people with dementia and their families.

The Angus Memory Walk will take place on Saturday September 2 at Forfar Loch at 11am to help support people living with dementia across the region and the countless partners, family members and friends also affected.

It will start and finish at Strathmore Rugby Club.

Memory Walks are open to walkers of all ages and abilities, as well as being wheelchair, buggy and also dog-friendly.

Andrea Watt, spokeswoma­n for Alzheimer Scotland, said: “We are all very excited about our Angus Memory Walk event this year and we need as many local people as possible to come along and challenge dementia, celebrate loved ones, and enjoy a fantastic day out in the beautiful Scottish outdoors.

“Together we can make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia and their families across the region.”

Registrati­on is £10 for adult walkers, £5 for 12 to 16-yearolds and under-12s can walk for free by registerin­g online at http :// memory walks scotland. org/our-walks/angus-memorywalk/.

Participan­ts can raise additional funds from sponsorshi­p if they wish.
