Three drug dealers have been jailed for a combined period of 15 years after being caught with £100,000 of cocaine and heroin.

Scott Curtis, William Malkin and Rogan Millar were caught in a police operation in Dundee’s West End last October.

Malkin, 25, was sentenced to five-anda-half years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday, while Curtis, 26, and Millar, 28, were jailed for four-anda-half and four years respectively.

Curtis and Millar, both of Ogilvy Street, Tayport, admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin between September 27 and October 5 and being concerned in the supply of cocaine between September 20 and October 5 last year.

Malkin, of Blackness Avenue, Dundee, was found guilty of being concerned in the supply of the class A drugs between April 20 and October 8.

The trio were arrested following a police operation last October.

A tenement close on Bellefield Avenue was put under police surveillance as part of Operation Sylvan.

The class A drugs were discovered in a ground-floor flat after police raided the property and the trio were spotted during the stake-out.

Curtis was seen entering the flat with a cardboard box and a number of bin bags and when officers searched the flat at a later date they discovered cocaine and heroin along with cutting agents such as benzocaine and caffeine.

At the trial held in the High Court in Edinburgh last month, the court heard pieces of paper were recovered during a search at Millar’s home which appeared to be the remains of a drugs “tick list” recording debts.

Following the raid detectives in an unmarked vehicle spotted Curtis driving a black Subaru Impreza.

He was later detained and a knife, baseball bat and knuckle duster were found in the vehicle.

Detective Sergeant Ewan Murray, of the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit, praised the actions of investigating officers for helping remove the dealers from the city’s streets.

He said: “These sentences serve a strong message to those who deal drugs in our communities.

“Tackling drugs is a priority for Police Scotland and we will continue to target those individuals who are involved in this illicit trade.

“The recovery was the result of an intelligence-led operation and I would like to take the opportunity to thank the public and remind them that all the information provided to us is taken seriously and we act upon it.”
