- PETER RUNDO

LOCHEE UNITED’s unbeaten start to the season was unceremoniously halted by Linlithgow Rose inflicting a 5-1 defeat on the Bluebells at Thomson Park.

They were dominated from the start, and Greg Kirk’s consolation came when they were 4-0 down.

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC collected all three points after Tony Holy missed a stoppage-time penalty that would have earned visitors JEANFIELD a draw.

Paul McLennan gave the Fed a firsthalf lead, with Darryl Kesson doubling it after the break.

Fraser Mills pulled one back for Swifts before the late drama in which Swifts let the hosts off the hook.

CARNOUSTIE returned from Newtongrange Star with three points following a 2-1 victory, with all the goals coming in the first half.

But they had to come from behind after a Wes Mitchell goal.

Ryan Dignan scored them both, the equaliser coming from a crashing 35-yarder after 13 minutes and the winner a further 13 minutes on.

DUNDONALD BLUEBELL were 2-1 winners at FORFAR WEST END, who are still pointless from their three home games.

Barry Sibanda fired the Fifers in front after 15 minutes, with Darren Scott levelling on 34 minutes.

Calum Smith was the match-winner from a great Stuart Walton delivery midway through the second half.

Another side enjoying an away day were HILL OF BEATH at Camelon, also edging a 2-1 victory.

Rikki Dair headed Haws in front from a corner after eight minutes, and Lewis Elder doubled the lead on 53 minutes from a Lee Bryce free-kick.

Camelon‘s consolation counter came right on the final whistle. KENNOWAY STAR HEARTS are still seeking their first top-flight win.

For the second match running they shared four goals to earn a point, twice coming from behind at Broxburn.

All the goals came in the second half, with Matty Gay getting the point-saving equaliser after Broxburn hit back to lead after Dylan Muir opened the scoring for the visitors.
