Fife clubs enjoy successful day
Though stretched for bodies, TAYPORT returned from Tranent with a win. The hosts had the better of the first half, but a second-half Marc Ogg penalty was followed by a Dale Reid brace for Port.
ST ANDREWS had a fourth straight win away to Blackburn United. Trailing at the break, Saints struck twice in the last five minutes. Player/boss Craig Morrison came off the bench to score and also set up Daryl Falconer’s winner.
At Warout, GLENROTHES were 4-0 winners over Arniston after three defeats. Boss Willie Campbell was so short-handed he fielded three trialists, of which he was one, while the other two were teenagers. The 17-year-old scored the opener and the 16-year-old had a brace. Jamie Leslie was the other scorer.
THONTON HIBS mastered the windy conditions at Memorial Park to beat Whitburn 3-0.
Daniel McNab’s low, driven free-kick gave them an interval lead. Liam Forbes netted from the spot after Raymond Crichton was upended, and a Forbes goal on 53 minutes effectively sealed it.
KIRRIE salvage a deserved point at Haddington. Gary Archibald and Lee Cameron pegged back a 2-0 deficit. Frustration at being denied a penalty was only heightened by Scott Moffat completing his third hat-trick of the season to regain the lead for the hosts, but Stewart Russell ensured justice with a goal three minutes from time. For the second week running
DOWNFIELD were on the wrong end of a 5-1 score, with Bryan Duell getting their consolation counter at Fauldhouse.
