Brechin end Arbroath’s run

-

Arbroath Vics’ 100% record came to an abrupt end at the hand of Phil McGuire’s Brechin Vics.

Brechin, who fielded their youngest side on record, took a deserved lead on 25 minutes when Bruce Hearn struck from 25 yards. Kellon Lyons equalised five minutes later but the visitors pressed forward and got a deserved 77th-minute winner from Bradley Craigie.

East Craigie were given a lesson at Blairgowrie as they went down 7-2.

Matty Adam scored a hat-trick for Blair to add to a brace from Gordon Norrie and goals from Darren Neave and Rudi Brown. Nik Mann scored both Craigie goals.

Three second half goals for North End saw them take the points from their trip to Coupar Angus.

Ryan Hunter put the visitors in front from the spot on 46 minutes, Kieran Sturrock made it two on 75 minutes and Ryan Smith made sure with a third, five minutes from time.

Luncarty came out on top in the big game at Glenesk Park against Violet.

Sean Fergus scored twice to put his side in front before Violet drew level through two Johnny McBride strikes. Kieran Donald and a collector’s item from Danny Dobie saw the Perthshire side claim the points.

Lochore Welfare thrashed Forfar Albion 7-1 away from home. Scorers for the Fifers were Kearyn Hicks with a hattrick, Scott Small, Joe Kinnonmonth and Adam Harrow. Dylan Philips was the Albion scorer.

Alan Cameron will be putting his thinking cap on after watching his Kinnoull side go down 3-0 at home to Lochee Harp. Two Sam McDonald strikes in four minutes – on 48 and 52 – set Michael Gormley’s side on the way to victory, with Connaire Connelly hitting the third just before full-time.

Ben Moffat netted a hat-trick for Scone as they beat Newburgh 4-1.

Moffat scored on 18, 34 and 48 minutes before Stephen Fortune pulled one back on 53 minutes. Kev Sinclair killed off any hopes of a Burgh fightback with Thistle’s fourth three minutes later.
