Gone are the days when we can invest time in making big meals for our family and friends – instead we want food that is quick and easy to make, as well as tasty and healthy. According Normal for Norfolk (BBC2, 10pm-10.30pm) The Wiveton estate has been in hibernatio­n for the winter months, but as spring arrives the farm comes alive again. Desmond MacCarthy and his team make frantic preparatio­ns to reopen the cafe on Mother’s Day, complete with a new electronic till system, a children’s playhouse based on the manor, and a toilet block with amazing views. Imagine - Margaret Atwood: You Have Been Warned! (BBC1, 10.30pm-11.30pm) Margaret Atwood has been acclaimed as Canada’s greatest living writer and at the age of 77 her star shines brighter than ever, thanks to a TV adaptation of her dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale. In this edition, Alan Yentob meets the author in Toronto. to Jamie Oliver: ’Sometimes the simplest things are the best’ and in this series he is using just five ingredient­s to create a selection of delicious stress-free recipes. On the menu tonight are sesame seared tuna, a messy meatball bun and chocolate rye cookies. Then, to round things off, Jamie prepares the comforting classic, chicken pot pie. Dangerous Borders: A Journey Across India & Pakistan (BBC2, 9pm-10pm) Babita Sharma catches the Jammu Express, then treks up the Trikuta Mountains to one of the holiest Hindu sites in the world. On the Pakistani side of the border, Adnan travels the 800-mile Karakoram highway, while Babita’s journey takes her along the Zojila Pass to Kargil. Last in the series. In Solitary: The AntiSocial Experiment (Channel 5, 9pm-10.30pm) How would you react if you spent five whole days and nights, totally alone with just food and drink, a bed and a toilet? This new reality show follows three volunteers who will endure five days and nights in solitary confinemen­t to see how they cope mentally and physically.
