Downfield looked dead and buried at home to Glenrothes, trailing 3-1 with 12 minutes left.

Paul Marr’s side, though, completed an impressive comeback with three late goals.

Phil Hagen gave the home side the lead only for Glens to equalise through Sean Simpson from the spot.

Thornton Hibs were impressive 2-0 winners at Kirriemuir Thistle, leaving Thistle boss Jim Finlayson admitting his side got what they deserved.

Stuart Drummond hit his first of the season on 14 minutes to give the visitors the lead and Garry Thomson scored a second just before the hour mark to secure the win.

St Andrews United’s bright start to the season came to an abrupt end with a 3-0 home defeat to 10-man Musselburgh at Barnetts Park.

Conor Thomson made it 2-0 on 56 minutes before goalmachine Mathu King made sure eight minutes later.

Tayport’s management team of Charlie King and Daryn Smith were left nonplussed after their side passed up 11 good chances as they went down 4-1 to Fauldhouse at the Canniepairt.

Currie gave the visitors an early lead after just four minutes and then David O’Donnell made it two from the spot after he had been fouled by Craig Sturrock.
