With Freshers’ Weeks and the new term just around the corner, The Courier caught up with the presidents of Dundee, Abertay and St Andrews student associations and found out why each is a great place to go to university

President of DUSA Sean O’Connor Hello, and welcome to the University of Dundee, situated at the heart of Scotland’s sunniest city. Congratulations on making it to Scotland’s University of the Year – again. I am the President of the Dundee University Students’ Association and our team of eight elected representatives – six of whom are fulltime and paid – are here to support you in every aspect of your new student life! You couldn’t have come to the University of Dundee at a better time, with our extraordinary teaching, our world-class research and our renowned student experience, as not only will you have one of the UK’s top student experiences, you will soon have a degree from a highperformance university that will empower you to be anything you want to be.

1 The University of Dundee is one of the best in the country and it isn’t done yet!

UoD has risen rapidly up the league tables with a unique and incredible student experience championed by a loud student voice which is right at the heart of everything we do. 2 A city transformed Dundee has changed dramatically over the years and as we approach the completion of the V&A and the new train station, there really are few waterfronts in Scotland that can compete with Dundee’s.

3 Dundee’s incredible entertainment scene

From the most delicious restaurants to the most stunning art all the way to the best nights out – Dundee has it all. Right at the centre of the city’s best entertainment is The Union, the home of the Dundee University Students Association.
