Returning women urged to join scheme

-

A new programme offering “return ship” placements in the financial sector is urging women finishing a career break to apply.

The scheme will give 40 financial services professional women the opportunity to build their confidence and update their skills with the aim of helping them get back into skilled employment.

Prudential and TSB have already committed to the initiative, which will offer returners a three-month paid placement with an employer, with a possibility of ongoing employment at the end of the programme.

Women Returners Ltd have been awarded £48,500 of Scottish Government funding for the Returners to Financial Services Scotland Programme.

Positions will be secured and advertised by the end of October and the two cohorts, in Glasgow and Edinburgh, start their placements early next year.

Hazel Little, the coaching and programme manager at Women Returners, said: “We believe that the success of the programme will demonstrate the business benefit of hiring returners to financial services organisations throughout Scotland.”

Employers and returners can register their interest by emailing hazel@ womenreturners.com or find out more at wrpn.womenreturners.com/returnerstofinancial-servicesscotland-programme/
