• Now recognised as one of Dundee’s most vibrant and important music festivals, Book Yer Ane Fest XI has been launched with the announcement of more than 50 artists playing in three venues this year.

Promoters Make That A Take Records are presenting the festival, which they are calling Hardcore Against Immiseration – A DIY Punk Benefit Festival.

It takes place across the weekend of Friday December 1 to Sunday December 3 and all proceeds got to charity.

The three-day celebration of DIY punk music and culture aims to be a positive force while raising money and awareness for and to support the great work of many great people and organisations within our community.

What started as an alldayer in a Perth pub in 2008 now welcomes national and international artists to Dundee to perform across three venues.

They are the Abertay Student Centre, Conroy’s Basement and Deacon Brodie’s and Earlybird weekend tickets are still available at £20.

This year they are raising money for four vital services: Young Minds, Addaction, Insight Counselling and Royal Life Saving Society, while Tins For Tunes, which supports Dundee Foodbank, will be in operation throughout the weekend.

Organisers will also be operating the Donation Station in support of Dundee Refugee Support / Dundee The Caring City, www. dundeethecaringcity.co.uk/

Bands have been enlisted from across the whole of the UK, including Bird Law from Aberdeen, Cherym from Northern Ireland, Chris Snelgrove from Canada, Darko from England and Flatfoot 56 from USA.

Local bands are well catered for with gigs by Kaddish and Muppet Mule (who are reuniting after 20 years since their last show).

Other bands are coming from England, Northern Ireland as well as Scotland.
