Agricultural vehicles given the green light
Farmers and crofters will be permitted to drive agricultural vehicles across the new Queensferry Crossing in the short term.
Farmers union NFU Scotland welcomed the news.
It has now called for agricultural vehicles to be allowed to use the Forth Road Bridge once the Queensferry Crossing achieves motorway status.
The union’s legal and technical committee chairman, Jamie Smart, said: “Discussions are ongoing, but the union is seeking access to the Forth Road Bridge without the need for cumbersome bureaucracy or unnecessary levels of paperwork for the farmers looking to use that route.”
