Mcilroy fails to make impression

Australia’s Jason Day, pictured, followed his opening 64 with a 65 to share the clubhouse lead with Rickie Fowler in the BMW Championship at Conway Farms, Illinois.

Rory Mcilroy, struggling to earn the chance to defend his Fedex Cup standings, was well off the red hot pace. A 69 left him on one under, 12 shots behind Day and Fowler and 14 behind leader on the course Marc Leishman.
