Nissan’s new star
Nissan’s Pulsar is being launched in a special edition model: the N-connecta Style Edition.
Based on the existing N-connecta, the Style Edition takes things up a level, adding a host of upgrades.
The exterior of the car sees the addition of black bezel headlights with daytime running lights, black door mirrors and 18-inch black diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Inside, there’s a five-inch touch- screen infotainment system that includes Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio, aux and USB ports and a rear-view camera. It has one powertrain option, a 1.2-litre petrol paired to a six-speed manual, which produces 113bhp and 190Nm of torque, capable of taking the car from 0-60mph in 10.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 118mph.
The N-connecta Style Edition is available for order now. Kia’s plug-in hybrid Kia has added a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the stylish and spacious Optima Sportswagon to its growing fleet of alternativepowertrain models.
It will be sold as a single, highly specified stand-alone model priced at £32,645 after the Government’s plug-in car grant of £2,500.
According to Kia, the Sportswagon PHEV can cover 38 miles (61 km) in all-electric mode.
As with the Optima saloon
PHEV, the Sportswagon PHEV combines a 154bhp 2.0-litre direct-injection petrol engine with a 50kw (67bhp) electric motor.
When working together, the combustion engine and electric motor generate 202bhp and 375Nm of torque.
The Optima SW PHEV joins the Optima saloon PHEV, the all-electric Soul EV, the Niro hybrid crossover and Niro PHEV, all of which are meant to help Kia achieve a 25% reduction in fleet average CO2 emissions by the year 2020.
