Glebe Park striker could be out for two months

-

Brechin City striker Andy Jackson could be out of action for another two months.

Darren Dods has only had his star striker available for three of their league fixtures, and it will be a while longer before it becomes four.

The Glebe Park boss reported: “There’s a partial tear of his stomach muscles. He’ll probably be out for between six and eight weeks and might need a minor operation.

“It’s a real blow. Jacko scored 16 goals for us last season and we’ve only been able to play him in three of our league games.”

After being beaten by leaders Dunfermline last weekend, life in the Championship doesn’t get any easier today.

Winless Brechin travel to face a St Mirren side that hasn’t lost at home in the league so far this term.

“This would be a good time for their run to end and our run without a win to end as well,” said Dods.

“St Mirren are a good side. I think they’ve had seven straight home wins.

“Lewis Morgan has been very impressive for them. I think the rest of the Championship clubs are hoping someone puts a big bid in for him in January.

“Against Dunfermline last weekend we should have gone 1-0 up and that would have given us something to hold on to.

“But once they got their second goal they were able to stroke the ball about.

“You can get away with mistakes in League One that are punished at this level and if there’s one big lesson it’s that you have to take your chances when you’re on top.”
