Aguero misses Chelsea clash

-

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is expected to be out for between two and four weeks due to the injuries he suffered in a car crash in Amsterdam.

Aguero broke a rib after being involved in a road accident while visiting the Dutch city for a music concert on Thursday.

Aguero will definitely miss today’s trip to champions Chelsea and will also be unavailable for Argentina’s crucial upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Ecuador.

However, it is understood Aguero could return in time for the Premier League match at home to Stoke on October 14.

● Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has bracketed Paul Pogba’s injury as “long-term”, comparing it to those Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo are recovering from.

The severity of the hamstring issue that caused the 24-year-old to limp off early in the club’s Champions League return against Basel has been shrouded in mystery.

The United manager is still unwilling to put a timescale on the injury, but the Portuguese revealed it is a long-term issue.

Mourinho expects United to be without several players when Crystal Palace visit today.

Michael Carrick joins Pogba on the sidelines, with Phil Jones, Maroaune Fellaini and Antonio Valencia facing fitness tests.
