Violet victory after stunning comeback
Violet came from behind to beat Blairgowrie 3-1 at Glenesk. Indeed, the leaders scored three in the last six minutes to snatch victory.
Trailing to a Gordon Norrie goal, Ralph Henderson’s side looked to have gone two down when Darren Neave netted a penalty. But the ref ruled there had been an encroachment and awarded an indirect free-kick.
Norrie was red-carded after 75 minutes.
Violet’s late trio of goals came from Blair White, Ben Middleton and Gavin Thomson.
Luncarty stay second after easily overcoming Brechin Vics at Brownlands Park.
Player/boss Jon Kelly scored a second-minute goal, with a Kieran Donald double taking the tally to three after the half-hour mark.
Second-half goals from Steve Mcallister, a penalty, and Dale Robertson completed the scoring.
Kinnoull hammered Newburgh 8-1 at Tulloch Park for a fourth straight win and move into third.
David Gray grabbed a hat-trick, Ben Ragan scored two and Greg Whyte, Darren Gray and Mark Smith had singles.
The Burgh consolation was from Fraser Wilson.
Forfar Albion had their first win of the season, a 4-2 victory over Coupar Angus.
An Adam Fraser double had them two up in the first half.
Coupar striker Alex Gibb also bagged a brace to send the teams in level at the interval.
David Cargill then hit the match’s third double.
Scone Thistle had a 4-0 home win over Arbroath Vics.
Sean Whitworth, a quick-fire Aaron Mckay double, and sub Aaron Carlon with his first touch did the damage.
Lochore Welfare were 3-0 winners at Lochee Harp after on a fine first-half display. Logan Donaldson, Aaron Wood and Ethan Anderson were on target.
