Tight tie in prospect at Treaton Park

-

Treaton Park stages one of two all-fife ties as KENNOWAY STAR HEARTS host THORNTON HIBS in what shows every sign of being a tight first-round affair.

Hearts have Chris Gay back from suspension, but Liam Craig misses out through injury.

The other all-kingdom contest is a second-round tie as South league OAKLEY UNITED host LOCHORE WELFARE of the North League.

With five missing, the home side are down to the bare bones.

Welfare have the same squad that were such convincing winners at Harp last week. DUNDONALD BLUEBELL are away to Dalkeith and will be out to avoid a potential banana skin.

However, with the Premier League hosts having lost four of their five home games, the Super League Fifers should progress.

HILL OF BEATH are in a similar position away to Dunbar, who are on the same points as Dalkeith.

Only Rikkie Dair and Stephen Forbes are unavailable to Haws boss Kevin Fotheringham.

CROSSGATES PRIMROSE have a plum tie with the visit of Junior giants Linlithgow Rose.

It will be a big test for the muchimproved hosts against a Prestonfield outfit that have started stringing

results together after something of a shaky start.

ROSYTH have home advantage against Blackburn United, who are occupying fourth spot in the Premier table.

Recs are without Mark Mcculloch, Stan Chitemere and Baillie Kay.

However, they are better off than last week, when they were down to the ultimate in bare bones of 11.

After disappointingly losing at Arniston Rangers in the Junior Cup a fortnight ago, ST ANDREWS UNITED will be determined to make amends when they return this afternoon in the second round of the Fife & Lothians Cup.

Boss Craig Morrison is without the suspended Paul Quinn as well as Rhory Mooney and Ben Anthony.

NEWBURGH are at home the South League’s Harthill in a secondround clash.

Last week boss Alan Fortune added new signings Jim Scott and Robbie Goodwillie to his squad.

Both are ex-burgh players. Scott played in season 2012-13. Goodwillie, who started last week, was with them prior to a spell Down Under.

Struggling KIRKCALDY YM look set to be in for a torrid time at home to a Fauldhouse side flying near the top of the Premier League.
