Hill of Beath come good with late show

-

Thanks to a late recovery HILL OF BEATH pulled the iron out of the fire to edge a nine-goal thriller at Dunbar.

Haws led at the break but were a goal down with 15 minutes left.

They pulled through thanks to Lee Reid’s stoppage-time winner – his second goal of the match – after Aaron Hay equalised.

Lewis Elder also hit a double. DUNDONALD were more comfortable winners than the 2-1 scoreline at Dalkeith indicates.

They were two up after 20 minutes thanks to goals from Colin Wilson and Callum Smith with an overhead kick.

Paul Tansy pulled one back from a penalty three minutes after the restart, but was then red-carded.

For the second time this season ST ANDREWS’ cup hopes have been dashed by a defeat at Arniston, who won 2-1.

Having exited the Scottish they again went down to a single-goal defeat, with the handicap of playing for 65 minutes after Michael Fleming’s dismissal. Ross Graham was Saints’ scorer. THORNTON HIBS of the Premier League got the better of Super League hosts KENNOWAY STAR HEARTS

with a 2-0 victory.

Hibs scorers were Nathan Feeley (his first for Hibs) and Garry Thomson (his 109th for the side).

In the other all Fife-affair OAKLEY

lost out 4-2 at home to LOCHORE WELFARE and finished with eight men. Keeper Craig Moffat was sent off after 15 minutes, Willie Gardner after 65 minute and Reece Strachan five minutes from the end.

Welfare’s scorers were Aaron Wood, James Adam with two, and David Byrne, three of which were from penalties. Kevin Gollan scored Oakley’s goals. Despite playing almost an hour with 10 men and the last 20 minutes with nine, CROSSGATES PRIMROSE refused to roll over to Super League Linlithgow Rose.

Indeed, Tommy Coyne’s first-half strike was all that separated the sides.

Andy Mcdonald and Greg Pearson were the Primrose players to see red.

Only a goal down at the interval,

NEWBURGH slumped to an 8-1 home defeat to South League outfit Harthill.

Jack Saunders scored burgh’s consolation counter.

ROSYTH also suffered a torrid second half at home, going down to a 5-0 defeat to Blackburn United after being level at the interval.

Both sides had a man sent off in the first half, with Tam Hampson the Recs sinner, but it was the Premier league outfit that prevailed after the interval.

Super League promotion hopefuls Fauldhouse United were 5-0 winners away to Southern League stragglers
