There has been a number of large rainbow trout caught – J Samson had one at 7lbs 8oz, R Malkowski had one at 6lbs, and the Newtyle and Meigle Club had one at 6lbs 15 oz, so keep fishing you never know what’s going to take.

FORBES OF KINGENNIE witnessed a wide range of weather conditions during the week and the catch results reflected this on the fly-only and the any-legal-method ponds.

On the Boathouse Mr Eagon took four fish for a total of 13lbs and returned a further three, while Mr Clark had two for 11lbs with one at 8lbs and Mr Walker also did well with two fish for 11lbs, including one at 7lbs.

The Burnside Pool fished steadily on most days. Mr Watson returned 10 fish, George Birse returned nine and Angus Dixon released eight.

Dries and buzzers took most of the fish although small lures did achieve some success.

Although the Bankside Pool was less heavily fished there were still some decent returns. Nick Soave had two fish for 8lbs with the bigger one weighing 6lbs.

The weather yet again played a part in this week’s returns at

MONIKIE with one day being lost to high winds.

Sink tip lines seem to be the order of the day with yellow-dancers, Dawson’s olive, black & green gold-heads and silver cormorants all taking fish.

The fish are feeding heavily on the large shoals of minnows that are present on both the Island and North ponds.
