Caledonian Marts, Stirling, sold 182 cattle: 96 prime bullocks, heifers and young bulls, 86 cast cows and bulls.

Bullocks to 248ppk for a Limousin from Brockwoodless, Canonbie, and to £1,588 from Learielaw, Broxburn.

Heifers to 250p twice for Limousin Crosses from Balquharrage, Lennoxtown, and Learielaw, Broxburn, and to £1,682 from Brockwoodlees, Canonbie.

Young bulls to 215p (twice) for Limousins from Millmoor. Leading prices were as follow. Bullocks – 245p Meadowend; 242p Balquharrage, Learielaw, Over Inzevar and Brockwoodlees; 240p Learielaw and Balquharrage.

Heifers: 245p Bankhead (Kerr), Borlick and Meadowend; 242p Bankhead, Borlick and Learielaw; 240p Brockwoodlees; 235p Pirnhall.

Also forward were 86 cast cows and bulls.

Beef cows ave 131p, selling to 164p from Baluskie, Barrhill and to £1,300 (twice) from Templehall, Auchtertool.

Dairy cows would be a similar trade to the week before, selling to 120p and £840 from Broompark, Torphichen.

Bulls sold to £1,100 from Hallquarter, St Ninians.

Beef cows: £1,240 Little Herdhill; £1,220 and £1,190 Meadowend.

Dairy cows: £750 Broompark, £620 Hayston.
