Five years on from her X Factor debut, Lucy Spraggan is regarded as one of the UK’S sharpest acoustic songsmiths.

Her song Last Night (Beer Fear) captured the nation’s hearts in 2012 with the track reaching number 11 in the charts and, to date, her TV talent show audition has attracted an incredible 42 million Youtube views.

Coming across like a female version of her Sheffield compatriot Alex Turner, Spraggan’s homemade debut album Top Room At The Zoo prompted Columbia to finance her follow-up Join The Club, which peaked at number seven in 2013.

Blending rap with folk, she scored hits with Lighthouse and Tea And Toast before cutting ties with the major and selfreleasing her third album We Are in 2015.

One of the leading lights in the LGBT community, Spraggan, 26, returned to the top 20 in February with her latest collection I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing.
