In Her Own Words: Rivendell Stories

Birnam Arts, Dunkeld October 13

- Caroline lindsay

“When an old person dies, a library burns to the ground”, so goes the African proverb.

Part of Scotland’s prestige Luminate Festival 2017, which explores the creativity of ageing, In Her Own Words: Rivendell Stories, will be exploring this ideal.

In Her Own Words is a verbatim theatre performance developed from the true stories and memories of residents from Rivendell Care Home, by award-winning playwright Lesley Wilson.

Travelling across time, from the shadow of the First World War to the confusion of Brexit, it tells tales of love and loss, of childhood and family, of homes and houses, of possessions and belongings and of growing up and growing old.

Join the residents of Rivendell for this hidden library of delightful treasures, drinking tea and eating cake .
