Fresh from a busy summer on the festival circuit, Glasgow’s Medicine Men head to Dundee tomorrow for a headline show at Church.

Drawing comparison­s with bands like The Chemical Brothers and Death In Vegas, Medicine Men mix soaring synths with kinetic breakbeats and bruising basslines, creating a glorious fusion of styles from sublime psychedeli­c rock to pumping dance music and everything in between. After forming in 2014, the band were selected to play T in the Park after just five gigs and released their debut single shortly after, enjoying airplay from Radio X and BBC Scotland.

The group has also received personal invitation­s to open for the likes of Cast, Steve Mason and The Temperance Movement. Catch them at Church tomorrow with support from Mercurials, Catch and Beta Waves.

Number 57 has its weekly acoustic session tonight from 9pm. Tomorrow it’s Chain Gang in the tea-time slot at 5.30pm.

The Junkyard Dogs are in their usual Sunday residency at 7pm.

Rock cover band Audiofraud are at Westport Bar tomorrow, playing classics from the likes of Kings of Leon, Blondie and Bryan Adams.

The music starts at 10pm and entry is free.

Tonight at the Reading Rooms, Donald Dust brings the finest Italo, Chicago house and synth-driven bangers.

Stamina residents Matt, Chris and Rico are on warm up from 10.30pm and entry is £5. Tomorrow Glaswegian house DJ Denis Sulta presents Sulta Selects with Big Miz. Denis Sulta makes catchy house tunes with striking synth melodies and the occasional larger-than-life vocal sample.

New clubnight Sunday Mass launches this week at the Rooms with techno tunes from Overflow, Baxter and Glyn from 10.30pm.

Reckless Kettle brings Glaswegian duo LAPS to Dundee for a live set on Thursday.

Alicia Matthews and Cassie Ezeji are frequently compared to the likes of ESG and Lizzy Mercier Descloux yet the pair cite Ru Paul as their main influence.

Gates open at the usual time of 10.30pm.

Andy Williams plays a solo electric set tonight at Deacon Brodie’s from 9pm.

Tomorrow it’s Brian Doc Wound from 6pm, followed at 9pm by Chilli Dog.

It’s Cherry Bombz Old Skool Rock Night at Beat Generator Live! tonight.

The band will play two solid hours of old school rock with legendary local rock DJ Joe Digan spinning all the classic dancefloor killers on either side. Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets are £5 from Groucho’s or you can pay on the door.

Cherry Bombz also play an unplugged set on Sunday at Neptune Bar in Montrose from 3pm.

Kieran Smart plays acoustic covers at Mcdaniels tonight from 9pm. Tomorrow it’s Grassroots at 9.30pm.

The Bank Bar has brothers Barry and Nicky Lawson tonight and tomorrow it’s Sinderins’ Stevie Anderson. Both start around 9.30pm. Songwriter­s’ Sunday is hosted by Gav Mcginty and Martin Tino Allan from 8.30pm.

Wednesday’s open mic is at 8.30pm with a guest host.

There’s storming rock and blues covers at Clark’s on Lindsay Street tonight with Two Wheels Good.

Tomorrow it’s party time with Fife’s finest The Columbos.

Both start at 10.30pm with free entry before midnight.

This week’s Sunday Song Club is hosted by Abandon’s Kenny Martin and Steve and Sheila Gaughan from 7.30pm.

Thursday’s Pre Production sees Merseyside group China Crisis stop off at Clark’s as part of a UK tour in support of their first album of new material in 20 years, Autumn in the Neighbourh­ood.

Known for their string of hit singles dating back to 1979, including Working with Fire and Steel and Wishful Thinking, the band will perform these classic tracks alongside songs from the new album.

This gig is sold out so for those who managed to get tickets, doors open at 8pm.

Scottish sextet Dante make their return with a gig at The Green Room in Perth on Thursday.

The band picked up acclaim in 2013 for their debut LP, Wake, which was produced by Frightened Rabbit’s own Andy Monaghan and gained big plaudits from critics.

They’re plotting the follow up record, to be released next year, and will be road testing it with a series of regional shows throughout the autumn, including this one.

The music starts at 9pm and entry is free.
