Liam Heelis and Evan Bloodoff both claimed glory doubles as Fife Flyers last night continued their dominance over Scottish rivals Braehead Clan.

Flyers led 2-0 before the Glasgow side pulled one back but the Kirkcaldy club then hit the opposition with three unanswered strikes inside nine secondperiod minutes to ensure the points stayed at Fife Ice Arena.

James Isaccs opened the scoring after 12 minutes and just over a minute later Heelis netted number two.

Jacob Doty pulled one back after 12 seconds of the middle session but Bloodoff on the power play after 25 minutes, the same player six minutes later and Heelis three minutes after that made it 5-1.

Craig Cescon pulled another back with less than four minutes left but it was too little too late as Fife claimed their fourth point of a triple-header weekend.

On Saturday, Fife emerged on the wrong side of a 3-2 scoreline at early season pace-setters Manchester Storm.

Dane Byers fired Storm ahead on the power play after 26 minutes and Ciaran Long made it 2-0 only 26 seconds later.

But Fife refused to buckle and James Jorgensen pulled one back, with Shayne Stockton and Carlo Finucci assisting, after 37 minutes.

Ricards Birzins set-up Ian Young for No 2 to level less than a minute later but Mike Hammond scored the game winner seven minutes into the final session.

There was disappointment for Dundee Stars after their 3-2 overtime win at Coventry Blaze on Saturday.

They failed to do the double, losing 2-1 at home to the same team with Vojtech Kloz opening the scoring after 13 minutes.

Gabriel Levesque netted, assisted by player/coach Omar Pacha, after 34 minutes but Adam Courchaine was set up by former Fife star Ryan Dingle for the game winner after 44 minutes
