Weather strikes with Kirrie and Hibs out of action

-

Three games in the Premier League succumbed to the weather with Kirriemuir Thistle’s trip to Arniston, Tayport’s visit to Bathgate Thistle and the game at Park View between Fauldhouse United and Thornton Hibs being postponed.

Glenrothes were a little unlucky to lose 2-1 to Blackburn United when they travelled to Ash Grove.

Brogan Hutton put the home side in front just after half-time but Will Campbell’s Glens were level within 60 seconds through Scott Napier.

The home side’s winner came on 75 minutes when a Glens boot turned the ball into his own net.

St Andrews United took the lead at Dalkeith Thistle but then had to come from behind to take a well-earned point from their trip south.

Scott Lawrie put Saints in front in the first half but the home side levelled before half-time through Ryan Mcqueenie.

Mcqueenie went on to put Dalkeith in front from the spot in the second half but Saints came back and levelled within a minute thanks to a Ross Cunningham goal.

Downfield made the long trip south to face Dunbar United and were thumped 4-0 by their hosts.

Steven Kean put United in front on 14 minutes. The visitors were forced into a substitution on 32 minutes with Jack Neave replacing Blair Mudie.

Neave lasted just eight minutes before he was shown a red card for a late challenge, reducing the Spiders to 10 men.

The second half was the Dean Ballantyne show as the Dunbar man helped himself to a hat-trick with goals on 53, 63 and 73 minutes.
