Same again for Campbell and free-scoring Lichties

After his side rattled in seven goals past a shell-shocked Airdrie last week, Arbroath boss Dick Campbell had an easy selection decision to make for today’s visit to East Fife.

Not surprisingly, the same 11 who terrorised the Diamonds at Gayfield will be tasked with securing another victory in Methil.

The Lichties will face an East Fife side still hurting after they were well beaten 4-0 by Alloa last Saturday and Campbell acknowledged it will be a difficult game.

However, with the likes of Ryan Mccord and Danny Denholm in a rich vein of scoring form, he is looking for his players replicate their Gayfield performance on the road.

Campbell said: “It will be the same team again at East Fife as the lads did really well against Airdrie.

“It is always good to score so many goals especially at home. We have had a couple of disappointing results at Gayfield previously. Hopefully last weekend’s victory will put to bed any thought that we have a problem playing on our home patch this season.

“It was good to see the goals shared around between five different players with Ryan Mccord’s finish for the seventh a truly magnificent effort.

“Ryan is scoring for fun at the moment with eight in five games but Danny Denholm has also been rattling them in and they have 16 goals between them so far which is a magnificent return at this stage of the season.

“Steven Doris has done some training this week but it is too soon for him to return, while Josh Skelly is out and Ricky Gomes has returned to Canada for treatment.

“So as I said, it will be the same team again – and while we know it is never easy at East Fife, we will be looking for the same outcome as well with another three points in the bag.”
