Young ponders over his many selection options

-

East Fife manager Darren Young is still working on his masterplan to get the better of in-form Arbroath.

Young explained: “This is a game that should have goals in it as both sides have shown in recent games that they can find the net.

“There has been a lot of head scratching going on this week as I need to come up with a formation that will allow us to keep being strong when we go forward but allow us to keep out one of the best strike-forces in the country.

“I have come up with a few options and hopefully will select the right one. We won 3-2 at their place earlier this season so we can be confident.

“A win would take us above Arbroath and back into the top four and I would be delighted with that as we still have to find top gear this season.”

The Fifers boss is also still trying to get his head around losing 4-1 at Alloa last weekend.

“It was disappointing at Alloa as we were leading early on and looked quite comfortable,” he said.

“However, we lost bad goals from their first two attempts that were on target and then a third goal that looked offside. It is a game that we could have won and I ended up wondering how on earth we had lost by three goals.”

Jonathan Page returns after a ban. Nathan Flannagan, Pat Slattery and Kieran Millar are all doubtful, and Scott Linton, Craig Watson and Chris Kane are ruled out.
