The first ever food and drinks awards for Dundee, Angus, Perth and Fife have arrived in style!

The Menu, The Courier’s Saturday food magazine, is proud to be hosting the Food and Drink Awards, a celebration of businesses and individuals in the area who create stunning products, dishes and tipples that are among the best in the industry.

A glittering awards ceremony, to be held at The Old Course, St Andrews on March 15 2018, will see the best and brightest in the food and drinks hospitality sectors honoured.

The closing date for entries is December 10 so there are only a few weeks to get your nominations in.

There are 10 different categories: Coffee Shop of the Year; Street Vendor of the Year; Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year; Chef of the Year; Farm to Fork Award – Food and Drink; Local to Global Brand of the Year; New Talent (Rising Star); Craft Drinks Producer of the Year; Consumers’ Choice – Pub of the Year, and Mixologist/sommelier of the Year.

Catriona Macinnes, editor of The Courier, says: “The food and drink sector in our area is a vibrant part of the local economy and The Courier is delighted to introduce The Menu Food and Drink Awards.

“Courier Country is home to rich larders, producing some of the best meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables in Scotland.

“We also have boutique distilleries, artisan breweries and niche producers who are taking the traditions of the past and giving them a modern twist.

“We have people with talent and passion and the awards will pay tribute to those who are true ambassadors for their craft,” she adds.

“So be you a small business, a new business, a business with global reach, be you a barista, a bar tender or a farmer, there is a category tailored for you and we look forward to showcasing the very best of the local food and drink scene.”

Martin Hollis, executive chef of The Old Course, adds: “These awards are so important to uncover hidden gems, gastronomic temples and find some incredible emerging talent across the region, and give recognition for talent and dedication that is so well deserved.

“So please take time to nominate and support your favourite.”
