HEALTH: Heartstart Discovery is running free two-hour training sessions in emergency life support for members of the public.

Places are still available on Monday November 28 at 10.30am-12.30pm in Montrose, on Tuesday November 28 at 7pm-9pm in Carnoustie, and on Friday December 1 at 10.30am-12.30pm in Arbroath.

MUSIC:

Highly acclaimed Australian songwriter­s Melanie Horsnell and Steve Appel (King Curly) will be performing a number of intimate gigs in Angus as part of their European tour.

They will be performing on Tuesday at the Two Sisters Café in Carnoustie, at 7.30pm, and on Wednesday at Kingoldrum Village Hall, near Kirriemuir, at 7pm.

CARNOUSTIE:

A petanque (French boules) open meeting will take place on Wednesday November 29 in the community hall in the Co-op on Carnoustie High Street.

Local group the Aboukir Grumpies have been playing Petanque for the past few months in the town.

The meeting has been arranged with a view to setting up a petanque club in Carnoustie.
